Ilston Valley Day Course
Ilston Valley is a wonderful mixture of Deciduous and Coniferous woodland with a small stream running through it. It has one or two open spaces where wild flowers grow, and in spring it has abundant areas of flowering wild garlic. Birds visible are Buzzard, Kingfisher, Blue tit, Great tit, Coal tit, Long-tailed tit, Robin, Blackbird, Thrushes, Black cap and occasionally Dipper.
Difficulty level
- Easy to Moderate - this trip is suitable for anyone with a reasonable level of fitness. It involves walks over predominately flat ground with a few moderate to gentle descents to the main area for photography. Some of the paths can be in places muddy, covered in stones or bare earth. We strongly advise the wearing of Wellington boots.
