Elan Valley Day Course
This course will focus on the rugged landscape of the Elan Valley in Mid Wales. The valley has a complex of water resevoirs, each with its own character and varied views from wooded valley sides to harsh barren moorland.
Flora and Fauna
Birds - Red Kite, Blackbird, Robin, Goldeneye, Merganser, Mallard, Grey Heron, Tufted Duck
Mammals - grey squirrel, Otter, fox, Weasel
Plants - Bluebells, wild garlic, Gorse, Hawthorne, fungi
Difficulty level
- Easy to Moderate - this trip is suitable for anyone with a reasonable level of fitness. It involves walks over predominately flat ground with a few moderate to gentle ascents/descents to the main area for photography. All major paths are covered in fine/medium gravel. Some of the other paths can be in places sandy, muddy, covered in stones or bare earth.

- Personal insurance - please ensure that you are covered for travel, medical and personal accident risk
- Camera insurance - it is all ways wise to have your equipment fully insured

Number of Participants
The course is limited to a maximum of six participants. This ensures maximum benefits for all participants taking part.

- We will meet in the Elan Valley visitors centre car park at 9.00am. Please pay the £1.00 car park fee at the meter outside the shop.
