Waterfalls country is the area of the Neath Valley that has a high density of waterfalls centred around the village of Pontneddfechan. This is where the Waterfalls centre is located. Within this area are over ten walks that take in the 13 waterfalls in the Brecon Beacons National Park and Fforest Fawr Geopark. We will be walking part of the Elidir Trail, taking in the Sgwd Ddwli Uchaf, Sgwd Ddwli Isaf, Sgwd y Bedol and Sgwd Gwladus waterfalls. Hopefully there will be some strong Autumn colour with the leaves of the beech trees turing orange this time of year.

Difficulty level
- Moderate to Difficult - this trip is suitable for anyone with a reasonable level of fitness. It involves walks over predominately narrow paths that are muddy all year round. The paths are along the sides of sloping valleys, with moderate inclines and after rainfall they become exceedingly muddy and more slippery. As some of the best locations to photograph the falls involves standing in shallow water occasionally (this is optional!) I recommend winter style, waterproof walking boots and gaiters. Wellington boots would be useful for standing in the rivers, but will not have enough grip and comfort when walking on the paths. Walking poles or an extended tripod used as a walking aid are recommended to help balance when walking on the paths.

- Camera insurance - it is all ways wise to have your equipment fully insured

The course is limited to a maximum of six participants. This ensures maximum benefits for all participants taking part.

- Please complete and return a booking form as well. I only require completion of the first two pages for my insurance requirements.

Where to Meet
- We will meet at the Waterfall centre in Pontneddfechan at 9.00am. From here we will drive in convoy to the Pont Melin-fach parking area where we start the walk. The car park is free.
