This was one of those evenings where it didn’t really look promising for good images, and I was distracted trying to get some images of surfers at sunset. When I had given up trying the surfer shots, I finally noticed the yellow and blue contrast that had developed between the sunlight sky and blue coloured sea in the shade. I liked the image so much, I decided to use it as the Gower Photography signature image.
For those that would like some tech, the image was taken on a Nikon D300 with a 24-120mm lens and Lee 0.9 ND filter. White balance was set at daylight.
I am finding more and more that I leave my camera set to daylight white balance. I can always alter this in the RAW converter anyway, but I find that this gives me colours similar to how film recorded similar situations.
